Israel Defence Forces killed Hamas political Jamila Abdallah Taha al-Shanti, the terrorist organisation said on Hamas radio.
Al-Shanti, 68, was a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council and the first woman in the political bureau of Hamas.
Israeli media cited Hamas radio confirming her death. Her husband was killed by Israel’s Air Force in 2004 in a hellfire missile strike.
