Hamas' brutal ambush footage showing fighters taking out Israeli tanks in Gaza

Hamas has released a video taken by one of the organisation’s Palestinian fighters during an attack on an Israel military column in Gaza.

Israeli forces have penetrated deep into the Hamas-controlled enclave but face guerilla attacks from Hamas.

The Palestinian militant group has prepared the Gaza Strip for any Israeli incursion with kilometres of underground tunnels and bunkers.

The footage released by Hamas appears to show fighters emerging from one such tunnel armed with rocket launchers.

Having sneaked close to a column of Israeli vehicles, including a tank, the Hamas squad opened fire with rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs).

It is unclear when and where the footage was taken but the Israel Defence Forces(IDF) has acknowledged suffering casualties in clashes in Gaza over recent days.

So far the total number of IDF soldiers killed in the Gaza operation so far stands at 16.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, a US think tank that monitors conflicts, Israeli forces seemed to be making progress along three primary routes.

One advance was observed in the northeast corner of Gaza. Another, situated to the south of Gaza City, was cutting across the width of the territory, intersecting with the main north-south highway.

The third advance, originating from the northwest corner of Gaza, extended approximately three miles along the Mediterranean coast and reached the outskirts of the Shati and Jabaliya refugee camps on the periphery of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, Hamas has threatened further violence with Ghazi Hamad, from the group’s political wing telling a Lebanese news channel that they intend to carry out further attacks similar to the one on October 7th, when militants breached the Israel border and killed 1,400 Israelis the majority civilian.

Mr Hamad said: “The Al Aqsa Flood is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth, because we have the determination, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight.”
