Grinch tries to steal Xmas from kids by standing outside school with 'Santa's fake' sign

A man attempted to ruin Christmas for young kids by standing outside of a primary school dressed as the Grinch.

David Grisham dressed as the green, furry, Christmas-hating monster and stood outside Sleepy Hollow Elementary in Amarillo, Texas with a sign that read: “Santa is Fake. Jesus is Real.”

Parents at the school were unsurprising furious with one dad grabbing the sign and throwing it on the ground.

However, the police did not arrest the Scrooge and told local outlet ABC 7 that he was “lawfully on the sidewalk” and wasn’t breaking any laws.

Grisham said: “I understand why [the parents] are upset. They’re upset because they’re prideful and don’t want to admit that lying to their child is wrong in spite of what God’s word says.

“They’re more concerned with the traditions of men rather than the truth. And they double down on the lie because of pride and they are angry because they want to blame the person telling the truth than the one who told the lie that prompted the truth to expose the lie.

When asked about ruining the magic of Christmas for children, he responded: “I’m not concerned about the ‘magic’ of Christmas but the miracle of Christmas in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.”

But parents weren’t satisfied with the excuse. One said: “[Grisham] shouldn’t be pushing his agenda on any people’s kids.”

The Head Techer of Sleepy Hollow Elementary Kelsey Williams said Grisham was “unwelcome” and “uninvited”.

Williams added: “I’m saddened by the fact that some of our kiddos and families were frightened because of him.”

Santa Clause is believed to derive from the Dutch pronunciation of Saint Nicholas – Nicholas Sinterklaas.

The religious figure Saint Nicholas of Myra lived from 270-343 and is the patron saint of children who was known for giving gifts.
