Grieving mum says 'you make me sick' as Just Stop Oil block road to summer holiday

Just Stop Oil refused to move aside for a desperate mum as she tried to take her children on holiday – weeks after a family tragedy.

The mum was seen confronting activists earlier today as they conducted a slow walk on Marylebone Road in central London as she was headed to the airport.

She appeared distressed as she ripped a poster away from two as dozens of people crowded the busy thoroughfare, slowing traffic down to a crawl.

Bystanders heard the mum explaining her family had just suffered a devastating loss and that she was rushing to the airport.

According to the MailOnline, she shouted: “Get out of the way. I lost my father two weeks ago, and my kids are relying on this holiday.”

The mum added: “We’re going to miss it because of you. We’re going to miss our flights!

“You guys make me sick. Get a life and get a job.”

But activists refused to move, and other commuters railed against them in the street.

As the woman pulled banners from the protesters’ hands, she was joined by a man who tried to push them off the road.

The man, who was dressed in a white shirt, shouted that the participants “clearly haven’t got any jobs to go to”.

He called on them to “add something to the environment by doing something and earning money”.

Just Stop Oil responded to the events this morning with a post to Twitter, slamming people who “ripped up” and “snatched away” banners.

They said the “peaceful supporters of Just Stop Oil” faced “aggression” this morning.

The organisation added: “We march in civil resistance against our genocidal Government.

“If our government halted all new oil, gas and coal licences, we wouldn’t have to do this.”

The group had earlier condemned what they termed were the Government’s “genocidal decisions to issue new oil and gas licences”.

Just Stop Oil has redoubled its efforts recently, having invaded several sporting events – such as Wimbledon and the Ashes – and protested in shops like Hamley’s and Selfridges.
