Great Britain suffer another Davis Cup scare as Cam Norrie withdraws from Paris Masters

Great Britain will be sweating over the fitness of Cameron Norrie ahead of the Davis Cup after the 28-year-old withdrew from the Paris Masters with a new injury. Norrie has already been named in the British quintet for the knockout stages of the Davis Cup, which are set to take place in Malaga next month.

Dan Evans, Andy Murray and Jack Draper have also been selected by captain Leon Smith, while doubles specialist Neal Skupski will feature alongside the quartet in an unchanged line-up from last month’s qualifiers. However, it seems as though Norrie’s place in the team could be at risk following his withdrawal from the Paris Masters.

Norrie was scheduled to face Alexandre Muller in the first round on Monday but it has been confirmed that he will not take part in the event after suffering an injury to his right knee. He required treatment during his defeat to Alexander Zverev in Vienna on Wednesday and will be desperately hoping to return before the Davis Cup finals begin next month.
