Littler himself reacted to the crowd earlier in the evening, as he heard boos and jeers during his semi-final with Aspinall. Up against another local favourite, Littler walked to a section of the audience and cupped his ears, before throwing his arms up and then going over to shake his opponent’s hand.
But the teen held his nerve for another impressive nightly win. However, it was not all smiles for Littler and this time not thanks to a brawl inside the venue as the Manchester United fan was frustrated to have learned that his team threw away a late lead in a 4-3 defeat to rivals Chelsea.
“I’m glad I won, I just saw United concede two in two minutes,” Littler told Sky Sports. “I am glad to win. I have settled into it. The first 5-6 weeks I won the first game and then lost and lost. But winning last week gave me so much confidence coming to Manchester.”
