George Osborne is set to marry his long-term partner Thea Rogers in a lavish ceremony in Somerset today. The couple will tie the knot at St Mary’s Church in the village of Bruton in front of some familiar faces. The former Chancellor announced he would marry Ms Rogers, his former aide and Deliveroo executive in 2021, saying he has “probably never been happier in my life”.

In July 2021 the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Beau followed by Arthur who was born in December.

Current and former politicians are expected to be in attendance at the nuptials, including former Prime Minister David Cameron and Levelling-Up Secretary Michael Gove.

The small village of Bruton has been dubbed the “new Notting Hill” after famous faces including fashion designer Stella McCartney and director Sam Taylor-Johnson made it their home.

Since stepping down from the Commons six years ago Mr Osbourne has served as editor of the Evening Standard from 2017 to 2020 and is now chairman of the British Museum.
