Gary Anderson blasts Sky Sports in public outburst after World Darts Championship win

World Darts Championship star Gary Anderson hit out at Sky Sports’ analysis of his game after his victory over Boris Krcmar to reach the fourth round. The ‘Flying Scotsman’ was on top form to claim a 4-1 win and set up a Saturday night blockbuster tie with Brendan Dolan.

Sky reporter Polly James and the broadcaster’s commentary team were full of praise for Anderson as he cruised into the next round, but he felt that their analysis was not extended to their previous coverage of his game.

He lost the first set to the Croatian World Cup star, going down 3-2 after Krcmar’s 161 finish. However, he quickly took the second set 3-1 before throwing a 12-darter to take the third in a similarly spectacular fashion.

Anderson broke Krcmar with a 13-darter and then won the fifth and final set 3-0 with aplomb to secure his place in the last 16 against Dolan, who surprised Alexandra Palace by beating Gerwyn Price.

Speaking to Sky reporter James after the win, Anderson was full of praise for his opponent before being asked for his motivation, in which he had some choice words for her employer.

“Sky, saying I’m finished,” he replied bluntly. “Unlucky for you I’m not done yet, I keep trying. We keep going, daughter wants a horse so I better keep playing.”
