Furious Trump 'gearing up for battle' in Stormy Daniels hush money court hearing

Donald Trump is “gearing up for a battle” ahead of his hush money court hearing on Tuesday, his lawyer has said. The 76-year-old is expected to fly to New York City from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Monday as he prepares to appear at a Manhattan court.

He is then expected to jet back to the Sunshine State to address supporters.

The ex-President’s lawyer Joe Tacopina has said Trump will fight the allegations vigorously.

He told ABC’s This Week: “He’s someone who’s going to be ready for this fight. We’re ready for this fight.

“And I look forward to moving this thing along as quickly as possible to exonerate him.”

Trump is expected to face more than 30 charges related to business fraud over an alleged $130,000 (£105,000) pay-out to Stormy Daniels in 2016.

It has been claimed Trump made the payment ahead of his victory against Hillary Clinton in an attempt to buy the porn star’s silence over an alleged affair.

However, Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The former President is scheduled to appear at his Manhattan hearing at 2.15pm (7.15pm BST) on Tuesday.

He will meet with advisors and his legal team to prepare the defence ahead of his flight to the Big Apple.

Trump will then return to Mar-a-Lago to address supporters at 8.15pm (12.15am BST)

Many of his supporters have started to assemble around his residences in solidarity with the former Commander-in-Chief.

Republican firebrand Marjorie Taylor-Greene will also appear at a rally for Trump in New York on Tuesday.

She said: “They’re not coming after President Trump, they’re coming after us, he’s just in their way.

“Join me and the New York Young Republican Club in New York City this Tuesday as we exercise our First Amendment right and protest the unprecedented political persecution of President Trump.”
