Funeral home worker 'robs dead man's house' for his life-sized sex doll

A funeral home worker has been busted for allegedly having sex with a life-sized sex doll he found in the apartment of a deceased person.

Ryan Smith, 41, was slapped with charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, and tampering with physical evidence on Friday — and was duly fired from his Nebraska county job.

Investigators say Smith and a colleague were dispatched last week to a home at the Rock Creek Apartments in Omaha to collect the body of a deceased person.

The pair were working on behalf of Mid America First Call, a company that removes, transports, embalms and cremates bodies.

Smith allegedly took a shine to a life-sized sex doll he found in the apartment, according to court records.

“Near the body on the bed was a very real life size” sex doll, an investigator reported.

Police allege that Smith then called the property manager and claimed that the local sheriff had asked him to remove the sex doll “to collect swabs for biopsy”.

The funeral worker’s bizarre request was immediately rejected.

The property manager later returned to the apartment to hear noises coming from inside (which had been locked with a deadbolt and chain).

To his utter dismay, a disheveled Smith then emerged from the unit – before declaring that he would return with a warrant for the doll.

This move backfired – the property manager swiftly called cops, who later arrested Smith on a felony burglary charge.

A post-arrest examination revealed the sex doll to be “sticky” and it appeared that “something had rubbed her inner thighs”, police noted.

A deputy collected the sex doll “so that I could have her processed for DNA”.

After arriving at the crime scene, investigators noticed several items inside the unit had been moved since the earlier investigation into the deceased person’s death.

The Douglas County Crime Lab is processing fingerprints lifted from the moved items — and is planning to request DNA samples from the doll.

Justin Dalton, owner of Mid America First Call, confirmed to WOWT that Smith was fired from his job even though the crime did not occur on shift.
