French evacuation of Sudan stalled after embassy convoy attacked- Man shot by rebel sniper


A French national has been shot in Sudan as Emmanuel Macron attempts to evacuate his officials from the country. 

The official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces reported that members of the rebel Rapid Support militia “attacked the French embassy convoy with gunfire”.

They added this was to “disrupt the evacuation process.”

Amid the gunfire, “a sniper wounded a Frenchman, in addition to attacking the mission headquarters in Burri [an area in the country’s capital Khartoum]”.
