FPL injury update: Gordon, Doku, Calvert-Lewin, Eze and Nkunku fitness latest for GW15

Newcastle United host Everton, and the Magpies will be keen to build on their impressive win over United on Saturday. In terms of individuals, in-form winger Anthony Gordon would need no second invitation to put his former employers to the sword.

The winger was withdrawn in second-half stoppage time against United, with manager Eddie Howe explaining: “I don’t know at this moment in time, I hope [he is OK]. He just said he was feeling a tightness in his hip, fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.”

Gordon returning in time to face the Toffees is by no means out of the picture, but FPL managers planning to throw him into the side may be wise to hold fire until there is clarity on the 22-year-old’s condition.

From one lightning-quick wide man to another, Jeremy Doku was hauled off with just over 50 minutes on the clock as Manchester City and Tottenham drew 3-3 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The sight of the Belgian limping slightly will not have been a welcome one for Sky Blues boss Pep Guardiola, who is already without fellow left-winger Jack Grealish for Wednesday night’s trip to Villa Park due to suspension.

It therefore seems likely that Doku will be rushed back into the starting XI if he is physically able, although City are yet to provide details on the specifics of his knock.

Eberechi Eze missed Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw against West Ham at the weekend. While he has been eased back into training with the Eagles, manager Roy Hodgson is not hopeful of the trickster returning to fitness in time to welcome Bournemouth to Selhurst Park, as medical staff have told him that his ankle problem needs more time to heal.

And finally, Christopher Nkunku is yet to play a single competitive game for Chelsea after being struck down during pre-season. That could all change against United on Wednesday, having narrowly missed out on the matchday squad that saw off Brighton.

With Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja both fighting fit up top, however, Nkunku’s most-likely route onto the pitch will be from the substitutes’ bench.
