Four signings Man Utd could target in January transfer spree as Erik ten Hag may axe trio

Antonio Silva

Benfica’s academy may have produced another star primed for a Premier League switch, with Silva on the shortlist for several clubs since breaking into the first team at 18. The Portugal international is still a teenager but his performances have proven he is already a mature player and a leader at the back for his club.

Benfica are notorious for slapping eye-watering price tags on their prized assets, with Silva rated at around £60m by his club. That wouldn’t necessarily put off United, who sent scouts to run the rule over the youngster in the international break back in September, according to 90Min.

With another two-week break to come, and Silva in the Portugal squad, few would bet against United scouts being in attendance again to get the lowdown on the centre-back ahead of a possible move in January or next summer.
