Four major French airports evacuated and flights grounded after 'bomb threats'


Four French airports have been evacuated this morning, after reports of receiving bomb threats, according to local media. As reported by BFMTV, Lille, Lyon, Toulouse and Nice airports have reportedly received the threats.

A police source told the news outlet that the airports have been evacuated.

Flights have been grounded at the airport, according to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

Those who have landed at the airport have either been disembarked directly onto the runway and not been taken to the terminal, or have been asked to wait on the plane.

A video from Toulouse airport posted on X, formerly Twitter, showed a queue of people slowing making their way out of the airport this morning.

According to BFMTV, Lille airport received an anonymous threat by email on Wednesday morning, shortly after 10am local time.

The airport was evacuated shortly afterwards.

Bomb disposal teams are on the scene to remove any portential explosives.
