Florida woman 'beat up her mum' before stealing her car and running her over

A Florida woman reportedly beat up her own mom, stole her car, and then hit her with it in a wild attack.

Police say Amber Scheuren-Rusnak, 25, was booked on charges of aggravated battery and carjacking. A mugshot where she is grinning has since been released by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, reports the New York Post.

A witness is said to have dialled 911 at around noon as chaos unfolded on Temple Street in Cocoa, Florida. Fox 35 Orlando says officers arrived at the scene to find Scheuren-Rusnak’s mom injured.

She was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition. Police say Scheuren-Rusnak meanwhile fled in her mother’s car.

Cops later found the vehicle abandoned. They used a dog unit to track down Scheuren-Rusnak, who was said to be hiding nearby. Witness Willamena Burns told WESH 2 News: “As he started barking, the bark got more aggressive.

“I got up and saw officers running on the side of my house into the backyard. So I went on my back porch, and they were all in the backyard with this female.”

Police have not released details about an alleged argument between Scheuren-Rusnak and her mom.

Cops say this marks Scheuren-Rusnak’s 10th arrest since 2018 and fourth this year. Previous charges have included drug possession, prositution and battery.
