First picture of innocent beautician killed in Liverpool pub shooting on Christmas Eve


Elle Edwards,  27 died after a gunman opened fire at the Lighthouse Inn shortly before midnight on Saturday. Tributes have poured in the beautician with her workplace ‘Nova Beauty; saying “we are all heartbroken…rest in paradise angel”. Another four men were injured in the shooting, including a 28-year-old who was left in critical condition. Merseyside Police said they did not believe the victim was targeted in the attack.

 

Paying tribute to Elle, friend Tyreece Hon said she was like a “big sister”. 

Posting on Facebook Tyreece said: “My heart goes out to your family who took me in as a son love you loads. Shine bright you crazy diamond.”

In a statement Nova Beauty said: “Heaven gained the most beautiful angel… we are all heartbroken, thinking of all of your family right now Elle.

“Thank you for all of the laughs and happiness you brought into our lives, rest in paradise angel, love from your team at Nova.”

In a press conference on Christmas Day Merseyside Police said the 26-year-old had just been “enjoying Christmas with her sister and friend during what should have been a peaceful time.”

Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs said: “Tragically the victim, a 26-year-old woman had suffered a serious gunshot injury to her head.

“She was taken to Arrowe Park hospital but sadly passed away shortly afterwards.

“Her family have been informed and on today, which should be a day with friends celebrating, they are coming to terms with this tragic loss.

“It’s very early stages of the investigation but we do not believe that the victim in this case has been targeted.

“She was out enjoying Christmas with her sister and friends at what should have been a peaceful time.

“What her family are now going through is incomprehensible.”

Wallasey MP Dame Angela Eagle said the incident was “heartbreaking” and appealed for anyone with information to contact police.

She tweeted: “This is heartbreaking news – My thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died & those who are injured. Anyone with any information please tell the police.”
