Fighter jets scramble to intercept aircraft flying too close to Joe Biden's Delaware home

An Aerospace Defense Command fighter craft and helicopter sprung into action when a civilian aircraft flew into restricted airspace over President Joe Biden’s Delaware home.

The president is staying there this weekend as he takes time out away from Washington.

The craft and MH-65 moved in at around 2:25pm on Saturday and escorted the unwelcome aircraft to the ground.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) jets shot flares to flag down the craft which may have been visible to those on the ground.

The Secret Service said the response was simply “a precaution”.

In a statement, it said: “Assets were scrambled to intercept and the civilian aircraft safely landed at a nearby airport.

“There were no impacts to the protectee’s movements as a result of this incident and agents from the US Secret Service are investigating in coordination with the FAA.”

Biden went back to his home in Delaware on Friday.

He has since been spotted attending afternoon mass at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Catholic Church.

President Biden and the White House have not commented on the incident.

This comes a month after a man was arrested outside Biden’s home having gone there with a gun and sign that read: “Bidens are criminals, 20 shell companies?! Where’s the laptop? 10 percent for the big guy.”

Another sign said: “Joe has aliases?! Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, JRN Ware.”

US Secret Service spokesperson Special Agent Steve Kopek later said: “The individual expressing his constitutional rights had no impact on any of the Secret Service’s protectees’ movements.”

The signs were referring to pseudonyms the president allegedly used in emails as vice president, according to an investigation by the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee.
