Fight breaks out in Mexican GP grandstand as tensions rise during chaotic race

The thrilling Mexican Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen take another victory while Sergio Perez crashed on the first turn, but the chaotic race turned sour when a fight broke out between fans in the grandstand. Footage captured on social media saw several spectators throw punches at each other before the brawl was broken up.

The Ferrari driver was even booed at the end of the race as he was conducting his interview having finished third, behind winner Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

“A lot of booing,” Leclerc said to a chorus of jeers in Mexico City. “Guys I had nowhere to go. I was a bit in between the Red Bulls and unfortunately I touched Checo. It’s life. I damaged my car and unfortunately it ended the race of Checo.
