The favourites gained a near perfect score for their iconic performance to Ravel’s Bolero which was watched by 24 million people in the UK.

62 years ago (1961) Sabena Flight 548 crashed on the approach to Brussels Airport, killing all 72 people on board and one person on the ground, including the entire US figure skating team, who had been on their way to the world championships in Prague.

The exact cause of the crash remains a mystery.

20 years ago (2003) Co-ordinated protests against the Iraq War took place in more than 600 cities all around the world.

Up to 30 million people participated, making it the largest peace demonstration in history.

The largest event took place in Rome with three million people taking part, while in London around a million took to the streets.
