FBI shoots and kills man plotting to gun down Joe Biden at rally this week

A Utah man was shot and killed during an FBI raid after he made threats to President Joe Biden and other officials.

Craig Robertson, who was facing three federal charges, was gunned down in his house on August 9, a law enforcement official confirmed.

Robertson wasn’t just threatening Biden and other officials, but he was also planning to take what the FBI was calling “credible action” against the president.

“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” the FBI said in a statement.

“In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide.”

Robertson had made several social media posts that included threats to Vice President Kamala Harris. He also posed with a sniper and warned that there would be blood on the street this week.

The US Secret Service had briefed Biden on the situation.

A representative for the presidential protection agency said they were aware of “an individual in Utah who has exhibited threats towards a Secret Service protected.”

They also referred any questions to the FBI.

In addition to threatening President Biden, Robertson also made threats to former president Donald Trump.

Robertson was facing charges of interstate threats, threats against the president, and influencing, impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.

The shooting occured at about 6:15 a.m. PT.

No further details were available at press time.
