Fans say same thing as rarely-seen Royal joins King Charles at Easter service

Royal fans were left blown away by how “grown up” James, the Earl of Wessex looked as he joined King Charles at the Easter Sunday church service. This was the King’s first notable public event since news broke out about his cancer last month.

A smaller group attended this year’s ceremony compared to the previous one, particularly without the Princess of Wales who recently disclosed her own cancer diagnosis via a heartfelt video message. The attendees included Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their 16-year-old son, James the Earl of Wessex.

As the nephew of King Charles and youngest grandson of the deceased Queen, he looked dapper in his suit. Slighter taller than his mother, Sophie, in her vibrant purple coat, he seemed almost as tall as his father, Edward. Royal followers couldn’t help but notice how much the seldom-seen Royal had grown. Given that he’s rarely seen, they took advantage of the occasion to comment on his height.

Discussed on social media platform X, one fan said: “Oh my God, James is so grown up.” Another commented: “Can we talk about the height of James, Earl of Wessex, huh?” One fan noted: “He is so tall now.”

While a fourth added: “The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh looking at their beloved teen, James, Earl of Wessex, 16, today.”

“How tall is James, The Earl of Wessex, going to be?? He’s what? 15? He might pass the #PrinceOfWales!!” someone else commented.

Another fan shared: “Oh how they grow… as tall as dad! James, Earl of Wessex, 16, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Prince Edward.”

James, Lady Louise Windsor’s younger brother, is 15th in line to the throne. He became the Earl of Wessex last year when his mum and dad were made Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

He has mostly lived a private life with his family away from the public eye.

However, in recent years, the young lad has been seen at big events like the Commonwealth Games, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and the King’s Coronation.

He was born in December 2007 at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, not far from his parent’s house, Bagshot Park.

His full name is James Alexander Philip Theo – his middle name Philip is a sweet tribute to his late grandad Prince Philip.

Earlier today, the King smiled and waved to the small crowd as he and Queen Camilla arrived for the service by car. Camilla looked lovely in a green coat dress by Anna Valentine and a hat by Philip Treacy.

The King, dressed in a dark coat and blue tie, happily waved at people outside St George’s Chapel. One person shouted “Happy Easter”, and Charles waved his arm and replied: “And to you.”
