Family's deaths shock small town as cops investigate possible murder-suicide

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide after four people – including two young children – were found dead inside a family home.

The horrifying incident happened on Titus Lane in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey on Wednesday.

Police received a 911 call at around 4.40pm on that day from someone requesting a welfare check at the family home.

Plainsboro officers arrived at the property but were horrified to discover the bodies of four victims.

The four people who were found dead were a husband, his wife, and their two young children – a young boy and a young girl, according to a report from CBS New York.

The adult man is accused of killing his wife and two young children, before killing himself, according to sources speaking to ABC7 Eyewitness News.

Friends, family, and neighbors have been left gobsmacked, with CBS New York reporting that the couple was thought to be happily married.

Family members told the news network the husband was an active personality in the community and was also the PTA at his children’s school.

A neighbor speaking to MyCentralJersey.com said she used to see the children playing outside, and the family had a lot of friends in the community.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released by the police. It’s unclear how the two adults and two children died.

A joint investigation has been opened between the Plainsboro Police Department and the Middlesex County prosecutor’s office.

The Prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday evening that an initial investigation that has been carried out has determined that there is no threat to the public.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to call Detective Will Atkinson of the Plainsboro Police Department at 609-799-2333 or Detective Javier Morillo the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-8843.
