A grieving family has paid tribute to two “adorable” sisters who died in a horror car crash on the A361.
Madison North, 21, and her teen sister Liberty, 17, died last week when their Volkswagen Polo collided with an Audi RS6 on a country road near Frome, Somerset.
A 30-year-old man, who was behind the wheel of the Audi, was taken to hospital, where he remains with critical injuries.
Family members and friends of the two sisters, known as Maddie and Libby, have launched a fundraiser to pay for a memorial page.
They were described as two “adorable girls” whose lives were “taken way too soon” by organiser and family friend Sonya Stubbings.
Ms Stubbings started fundraising on Saturday, July 31, just days after the sisters were killed on Tuesday, July 27.
She invited people to make contributions, with nearly 500 having offered their support.
With 497 donations in just two days, Ms Stubbings has successfully raised tens of thousands of pounds.
The fundraiser has gained £11,045, 220 percent over the original £5,000 target.
Dozens of generous donors have wished the sisters’ family well over the last few days.
One contributor who haded £150 to the page said the “two beautiful young ladies” were “gone too soon”, and would “always be in our hearts”.
Another said they hoped the family could “find the strength to cope” with the shock deaths.
Avon and Somerset Police have taken charge of investigating the incident and have said they wish to speak with anyone who may have information.
In a statement, representatives said they wish to hear from the driver of a white Volkswagen who was in the area at the time and anyone who may have footage of the crash.
They said: “Our thoughts remain with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time and they are being offered support by a specially trained family liaison officer.
“Our investigation into the collision is ongoing and officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision and anyone with dashcam, doorbell, mobile or CCTV footage.”
