Falls Township shootings: Four people feared dead as cops launch urgent hunt for gunman


Residents in Fall Township, Philadelphia are under a shelter-in-place warning after several people were shot by active shooter in the area, according to reports.

State Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1st dist.) said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, the incident involved a carjacking and shootings in two parts of Falls Township, as he urged residents to take precautions.

“There is an active shooter alert in Falls Township — we are monitoring a carjacking and a shooting in two sections of Falls Township,” he wrote. “I’m in touch with law enforcement officials as they pursue the suspect. More information to follow – please be alert of your surroundings and stay safe.”

Middletown Township Police Department advised people at 10am Saturday morning to stay away from Fall Township as there have been a number of gunshot victims.

“This is a fluid situation and we are asking the community to take some precautions. Do NOT travel to Falls Township until further notice,” officials said online.

“If you live in areas that border Falls, you should shelter in place until further notice,” they added.

Law enforcement are also asking locals to lock all of their doors and move to a central and secure location away from windows.

The Oxford Valley Mall and Sesame Place Philadelphia have been close by authorities until further notice.
