F1 LIVE: Max Verstappen threatens to quit Red Bull as Marko's future hangs in the balance

Max Verstappen has threatened to quit Red Bull if Helmut Marko is axed by the team.

The Austrian advisor is the subject of an internal investigation due to leaks surrounding Christian Horner’s situation, and he has now been told to stop speaking to journalists in the F1 paddock.

As a result, Verstappen is ready to leave Red Bull despite winning three Drivers’ Championships with the team due to his relationship with Marko.

He said: “I have always indicated to the team that Helmut is very important. For me, and for the team.

“And therefore also for my future, I don’t like the option of him leaving. Is it then clear what is happening? Yes. I have always said that Helmut should stay. I can’t continue without him.”
