Max Verstappen admitted that ‘you never know’ what could happen in the future after being quizzed on a potential move to Mercedes.
The Silver Arrows have openly courted Verstappen in recent weeks, with Toto Wolff making no secret of his desire to work with the Dutchman.
Verstappen was quizzed on those rumours ahead of the Miami Grand Prix and made it clear that he was happy at Red Bull for now.
However, he offered Mercedes a glimmer of hope by refusing to rule out a move to Brackley in the future.
“It’s about performance, it’s always about performance at the end of the day,” said Verstappen.
“At the moment, I can say that I want to stay with the team because I believe in the project that we have.
“But at the end of the day, in sports, but also in life, you never know what’s going to happen in the future.”
