F1 LIVE: Lewis Hamilton disqualified from US Grand Prix as Max Verstappen teases Mercedes

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton shared an intense battle at the United States Grand Prix on Sunday but the drama went on into the night as the Mercedes star and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc were both disqualified from the race following plank inspections.

Hamilton ended the first lap in fourth place after losing a spot to Carlos Sainz but the legendary Brit quickly fought back through the field, joining the battle for the lead with Verstappen and Lando Norris. He eventually passed Norris in the latter stages but finished just two seconds behind the race winner as Verstappen collected his 15th win of the campaign.

Leclerc endured an even more difficult time, ending the race in sixth place despite lining up on pole position at the race start, but ultimately it counted for nothing as both drivers were disqualified. Following a technical investigation from the FIA, it was found that Mercedes and Ferrari were running illegal floor heights, costing the pair vital points in their Driver’s Championship battles.
