Explosions rock 'Russian fighter jet airbase' in Crimea after Ukraine drone attack


Ukrainian drones have reportedly triggered an explosion at a Russian airfield in Crimea. On Thursday morning black smoke could be seen rising from the hamlet of Hvardiyske, where Vladimir Putin’s Su-24M aircraft are based.

The 37th Guards Composite Aviation Regiment, which operates Sukhoi Su-24M aircraft, is based out of the airfield at Gvardeyskoye. These aircraft are believed to play a critical part in Russia’s air operations over Ukraine.
