Europe's most glamorous young royal looks like a Queen in waiting as she steals show again

Princess Leonor of Spain looked like a Queen in waiting as she visited the Congress of Deputies on Wednesday, just a few weeks after swearing an oath to the Constitution to mark her 18th birthday.

The heiress to the throne joined her parents King Felipe and Queen Letizia as they attended the opening ceremony of the 15th Legislature of the Spanish Parliament in the Congress of Deputies. Leonor looked stunning in a midi green dress by Adolfo Domínguez which she paired with a Carolina Herrera camel coat and colour matching handbag and heels by Carolina Herrera and Huge Boss respectively.

The Princess of Asturias, as she is formally known, paired the look with medals of the Congress and the Senate which were presented to her on her 18th birthday, around her neck. She also had the insignia of the great necklace of the Order of Charles III that her father gave her a month ago pinned on her dress.

Reports suggested the royal’s choice of colour was a sweet nod to her military side, as she is currently completing her training at the Military Academy in Zaragoza.

The heiress to the throne completed the look with a set of jewellery by Gold&Roses belonging to her mother.

Queen Letizia donned a beautiful wine-coloured midi dress and a black cape with a fur collar, both by Carolina Herrera.

Felipe and Letizia arrived at the Carrera de San Jerónimo in Madrid in a separate car to Leonor and they were all welcomed by an Honours Battalion, four companies from the Army, the Navy, the Air and Space Forces and the Civil Guard with flag, squadron, band and music.

On arrival, the Spanish royal family was greeted by Spain’s president Pedro Sánchez, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Teodoro Esteban López Calderón.

Felipe and Letizia’s younger daughter, Infanta Sofia, did not attend because she is studying for her international baccalaureate at the British boarding school UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
