Euro 2024 draw disrupted by sex noises after group of death pulled out

The draw for the group stage of Euro 2024 was disrupted on Saturday when sex noises started playing out loud and were captured by the live broadcast. Manchester City icon David Silva was drawing out a difficult group when he was alerted to the sounds.

Quickly he looked over to the UEFA delegates as they pushed on and powered through despite the disruption, with several members of the audience spotted grinning.

Silva attempted to keep a straight face as Switzerland were drawn in Scotland’s group along with Germany and Hungary and continued for what has been dubbed the ‘group of death’ featuring Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania.

“There is some noise here…” the draw’s host said during a pause in the broadcast, but once it cleared up he added: “No noise anymore…”

Earlier this year, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer were left red-faced on the BBC during their broadcast of Wolves and Liverpool’s FA Cup match, which was similarly interrupted by loud sex noises.

The culprit on that occasion was a YouTube prankster who had taped a phone inside the studio. Reacting on X (formerly known as Twitter) at the time, Lineker posted a picture of the device and captioned it with: “Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing.”
