Erik ten Hag sends Man Utd players four-word warning as January transfer teased

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was happy with Monday’s 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round – but wasn’t impressed with one aspect of his side’s performance. Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes’ strikes earned an ultimately comfortable triumph, but the nippy night in the north-west could’ve been very different.

“I was very pleased with the first-half performance, apart from the first minutes of the game when we conceded the chance. Unnecessary, it can’t happen,” Ten Hag told BEIN Sports.

“But overall, the first half was very good. I think we had some great attacks [and] created five, six clear chances. We only scored one, [though], and I think we should’ve been 2-0 or 3-0 up by half-time.”
