Erik ten Hag lays down challenge to three Man Utd stars as Garnacho comment speaks volumes

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was left delighted with his side’s performance in Tuesday’s win over Aston Villa but was quick to demand consistency from his forwards on a weekly basis. The Red Devils came from two goals down to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring twice before Rasmus Hojlund fired home the winner to open his account in the Premier League.

United have struggled in the final third for much of this season but they fared better than usual against Villa, with Marcus Rashford performing well alongside Garnacho and Hojlund at the top of the pitch. Ten Hag was happy to offer praise after the final whistle but was in no mood to rest on his laurels as he challenged the trio to keep impressing on a weekly basis.

“I’m happy the strikers scored, it’s what we needed,” said Ten Hag on Amazon Prime. “I know we are capable of it. We have good finishers. Rashford, Garnacho and Hojlund are all good finishers and we have more, but also, they have to show it every game. If you are really believing and you have the willingness to score goals, you will score goals.”
