Erdogan 'shows West exactly how to control Putin' after unleashing brutal ultimatum

Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan has announced that Russia will extend the grain deal with Turkey despite an earlier denial from the Kremlin that the earlier agreement agreed in July last year would be extended.

The grain deal has allowed for the export of food and fertilizer from Ukraine to parts of the global south which are threatened with hunger.

President Erdogan’s handling of the deal which was brokered by Turkey has been hailed as an example of how to take on Putin.

Kremlin watcher Igor Sushko took the Twitter to praise the announcement, writing: “Erdogan announced that Putin has extended the ‘grain deal,’ not that Putin had any choice. Erdogan is showing the West exactly how to control Putin: Ultimatums paired with an unambiguous demonstration of strength.”
