Elvis Presley's ex Linda Thompson returns to Graceland in touching photos honouring King

Yesterday marked 46 years since Elvis Presley died at his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

And with this anniversary comes the end of Elvis Week 2023, which this year included his former girlfriend Linda Thompson giving interviews and tours.

The Miss Tennessee model was 22 when she started dating The King in 1972 and lived with him at his famous house for four and half years.

Paying tribute to her famous old flame, Linda has now posted a set of touching photos of herself inside Graceland, including ones recreating pictures from the Seventies hanging out in various rooms.

Most touching of all has to be a snap of her hugging Memphis Mafia member Jerry Schilling as the pair look over Elvis’ grave in the Meditation Garden.

The 73-year-old captioned her post: “I just arrived home from a whirlwind week as a special guest of Graceland and EPE during Elvis week in Memphis. I was honored to be included in commemorating the 46th anniversary of Elvis’s passing.

“I hosted intimate, guided tours through my former home, participated in the candlelight vigil, judged the ultimate ETA contest, did interviews, autographs, photos, conversations & more.”

Linda then went on to share her contributions to Graceland that fans enjoy to this day.

She added: “Memories flooded back so vividly that it felt like yesterday when I shared this iconic home with Elvis for 4 1/2 years of my young life. I designed the beautiful stained glass peacocks and had them installed, and was responsible for the iconic jungle room – along with Elvis.

“I must commend everyone who puts the events together as they do it with class, sensitivity, dignity, decorum, propriety & love. Elvis has the most dedicated, loyal, passionate and loving fans in the world! A special thank you to @aliciadean @angiemarchese13 & everyone who made my experience so memorable.”
