Elon Musk reveals weird diet quirk and fans wonder how he's still alive

Elon Musk has left fans wondering how he is still alive after he revealed his weird diet quirk on social media. The 51-year-old SpaceX founder said the sweet delicacy was a staple of his daily diet.

Writing in an exchange with XPRIZE chairman Peter Diamandis, Musk said: “I eat a donut every morning. Still alive.”

Musk was responding to Diamandis’ own post which labelled sugar as “poison”.

It would seem Twitter users have sided with Musk after he received more than 7,900 retweets and almost 190,000 likes.

Donald Trump’s 2016 Georgia state director Seth Weathers joked: “Sugar has no affect on robots or aliens.”

Final Stand CEO Matt Wallace added: “A donut a day keeps the doctor away.”

But other Twitter users were far less supportive of Musk’s comments.

One wrote: “This is awful. Donuts are the worst thing you could eat, pure poison.”

Another added: “Do not eat a donut every morning though unless you have blood dialysis done daily like Dracula.”

Diamandis’ original post received just 3,400 retweets and a little over 43,000 likes.

Responding to Musk’s dietary revelation, Diamandis wrote: “Okay Elon, allow me to be more specific. Sugar is a slow poison.”

But Musk’s comments may not surprise many of his avid followers.

He previously told popular podcaster Joe Rogan in 2020: “I’d rather eat tasty food and live a shorter life.”

Musk added that he does work out but “wouldn’t exercise at all” if he could.

A classic sugared donut is said to contain approximately 240 calories and 13 grams of sugar.
