Elon Musk has welcomed a third child with Grimes; a son named Tau Techno Mecanicus.
His birth has been kept private up until the release of a new biography about Musk, 52, set to hit shelves on September 12.
The book, written by Walter Isaacson, confirms Tau was born in secret, making him Musk’s 11th child in total.
Musk and Grimes’ first child together, X Æ A-12, or X, was born in 2020, and they later welcomed Exa Dark Sideræl Musk in 2022.
A review of Isaacson’s biography confirmed the news in the New York Times, and Musk has since taken to X/Twitter to confirm Tau’s existence.
“Tau Techno Mechanicus, Circumference/Diameter,” he said in a reply on Saturday night.
Grimes and Musk’s relationship has been on-and-off over the years, and they announced they had semi-split in March 2022.
The bombshell of their third child arrives shortly after Grimes begged Musk to let her “see my son” in a now-deleted post.
“Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer,” she said, though it’s unclear if she’s referring to X or Tau.
Shivon is Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, with whom Musk welcomed twins in November 2021, just weeks before his second with Grimes was born via surrogate.
Tau’s name also seems to reflect the billionaire’s obsession with the letter X.
The name actually derives from the Greek letter, which itself is derived from the Phoenician letter taw – which is written like a modern-day X.
Many of Musk’s business ventures have been marked with an X, including SpaceX, artificial intelligence company xAI and X.com, which merged with Confinity to become PayPal.
In April this year, Musk rebranded Twitter as X, which has subsequently sparked controversy and confusion amongst the app’s users.
Tau’s age is currently unknown.
