In a startling turn of events, an elderly woman in Impington had quite the surprise when her feline companion brought a live snake into her home. The 84-year-old resident, who has mobility issues, was left with no choice but to seek assistance from the local authorities.

Officers managed to capture the snake without incident. A photograph taken by the woman showed her cat playing with the serpent right in the middle of her living room rug.

Taking to X – previously known as Twitter – Cambridgeshire Constabulary shared details of the incident. They tweeted: “We were called by an elderly woman whose cat had brought a snake into her living room yesterday. We removed it from the #Impington home of the woman, 84, who struggles with her mobility. Ssssuccess! #NotJustArrests.”

They added: “The woman was able to send us a video of the cat and the snake direct to our control room thanks to @GoodSamApp. It helped officers assess the situation before arriving!”
