Eerie video captures family home abandoned for 30 years left frozen in time

A creepy video shows a tour of a family home that has been abandoned for 30 years but left frozen in time with photos, children’s toys and grand piano all left behind.

Dusty Reichert, 19, recently travelled around his home state, coming across the home in the southern side of Minnesota.

Sharing a video of his find on TikTok, he gathered over one million views with the eerie clip.

“I happened to be driving past this home after exploring a few other buildings,” Dusty said.

Speaking to NeedToKnow, Dusty added: “Once I saw it, I pulled over and walked to check the property out.

“Once I stumbled up the driveway of this home, I knew it was abandoned due to the broken windows and overgrown grass.”

Upon entering the Missouri home, he estimated it was likely abandoned in the 1990s, due to the types of toys left behind.

He said: “The inside of the home was quite decayed. It was also pretty creepy due to all the toys and old pictures lying around.

“I’ve got to say the most interesting find on the interior was either the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear action figure or the piano in the corner.”

In the video, shared on TikTok, Dusty shows the outside of the home, completely isolated in the middle of a field.

He then shows what he found in the home, starting with family photos which had been left behind.

Dusty added: “I personally won’t go back just because I’ve already documented what was needed, and it’s only gonna get worse than where it is now.

“It was likely left abandoned due to the homeowner passing away or moving away due to the unkept state it was left in.”

The post was captioned: “This house was frozen in time!” and has gained 176,000 likes, as well as hundreds of comments.

Jamie commented on the TikTok post: “It’s so upsetting how a house with memories can be abandoned like that. No family members check up on the house after they pass, nothing.”

Someone else commented: “Sometimes I wonder why they left everything.”

Another follower added: “Why does this make me sad.”

“The scary thing is, you don’t know why it’s abandoned and why everything is still there,” wrote someone else.

“I love abandoned houses so much,” said Stanley.

“My little cousin has the buzz lightyear and the kangaroo omg,” added Mitzi.
