'Drunk rich girl' pulled over for drink driving tells police: 'My father owns an island'

A young Florida woman fled from a police arrest and then begged cops to let her phone her father, who she said “owns an island”.

The reason police pulled her over, while she was driving in her Tesla, is because they believed she had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

Caught on dash cam footage, Stephanie initially refused to cooperate with the arrest.

She even told the officer: “I own this island,” before getting behind the wheel of her car and speeding away.

To assist in the situation, a female officer arrived at the scene. Together, they tried to restrain Stephanie, who was kicking and screaming while talking to her father on the phone.

The female officer told her: “This is what happens when you flee and then you kick me’ as the girl sobs lying face down on the ground.”

Bloodworth responded: “Can I call my father? He owns an island.”

She’s heard repeatedly telling cops they need to talk to her father because they’re on “his property”.

The young woman said: “I need my dad here before you do anything to me” to which the officer responded, “no that’s not how this works you’re 24 years old.”

Stephanie claimed that her father owned Duck Key, the island where this incident occurred.

Duck Key is a small, secluded island and unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, situated in the middle Florida Keys, with a population of around 750 residents.

When her dad finally arrived at the scene he said: “Stephanie you have to calm down’ and told her this was happening because she had been drinking and speeding.

“Now the way that you’ve acted you’ve gotten yourself in a deep hole and now they’re gonna take you to jail.”

Mr Bloodworth said: “There’s nothing I can do. I’ll get down there and see you when I can. But you can’t start acting out it’s just gonna get worse.”

One of the cops told her father “I am so happy that she didn’t kill someone. It’s a blessing in disguise.”

Bloodworth was transported to the police station around 9pm for a sobriety evaluation. CCTV footage captured her failing to successfully complete the breathalyzer test.

She now faces multiple charges, including resisting an officer, fleeing from the police, driving under the influence (DUI), and a traffic violation for reckless driving.
