Dr Shola told to ‘show some respect’ after outrageous attack on Auschwitz Museum

A prominent TV panelist and activist has been slammed for a shocking attack on Auschwitz Museum. Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu labelled the museum as “an embarrassment to humanity” that should be “ashamed of itself” because she believed it endorsed Israel’s war in Gaza.

In a bizarre New Year’s Day rant on X, formerly known as Twitter, Dr Shola replied to news on the memorial social media account that it had lost 7,000 followers in December.

She replied: “I unfollowed you after your disgraceful endorsement of Israel’s extermination, ethnic cleansing & genocide of Palestinians. The museum should be ashamed of itself.

“Never again means never again for anyone. You’re an embarrassment to humanity.”

Dr Shola’s comments come in the same month Auschwitz Memorial will mark the liberation of the concentration camp on January 26 and 27, 1945, after an estimated 1.1million Jewish men, women and children were killed there, part of some six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust in the Second World War.

She ended her attack by posting that her “commitment to ending injustice will never be compromised” and hastagging the slogan ‘free Palestine from apartheid Israel’.

Israel has been engaged in a war against the terror group Hamas after militants attacked on October 7 killing the highest number of Jews in a single day since the horrors of the Holocaust. The ensuing conflict in Gaza has claimed thousands of lives and sparked a rise of antisemitic attacks around the world.

Foreign policy analyst and former aide to Margaret Thatcher, Nile Gardiner, called for Dr Shola to show “some respect”, adding he was baffled by her rant.

He posted on X: “Who on Earth attacks the Auschwitz Museum as “an embarrassment to humanity”? Six million Jews were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. Show some respect.”

GB News panellist Adam Brooks was incensed by Dr Shola’s comments, calling them “filth”. He said on X: “If someone on the right spoke about Auschwitz and it’s memorial museum like Dr Shola has, they’d never work again, probably be arrested for hate speech and on the front cover of every paper.”

Political commentator Darren Grimes attacked the TV media that have Dr Shola on as a panelist, saying: “The Established media will continue to book this woman. It should tell you all you need to know about them.”

Adding to the concern about Dr Shola’s decision to target a memorial to some of the darkest days of humanity, Conservative councillor Tom Jones wrote: “You are shouting at the official Twitter account of the Auschwitz Museum. Take some time away from the internet.”

In less than five years more than a million Jews were murdered at Auschwitz by the Nazis.

On the memorial website it states: “In view of the role that it played in the realisation of the Nazi extermination plans, Auschwitz is known around the world as a symbol of genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany, and especially of the destruction of the Jews.”
