Doting Charles declares 'my Camilla is best listener in the world' in new doc

A window into Charles’s private life will be opened tonight in a special TV documentary.

In Charles R: The Making of a Monarch, the King speaks lovingly about his wife Camilla, saying: “She is the best listener in the world.

“She does have a wonderful way with people, that’s the special thing.”

And Camilla, 75, says of her husband: “He is pretty impatient, everybody who works with him will tell you but that’s how he gets things done. I would love to tell him to pace himself but I am afraid that’s not going to happen.”

She also said she wishes people could see the King’s “lighter side”.

As well as looking back at his early life with his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, Charles, 74, also speaks about his sons.

He says as children, William “was a splendid little character, very good-natured” while Harry was “absolutely adorable”.

And the King says he is driven by a desire to leave a legacy and a secure future for the next generation, adding “what we leave to our children and grandchildren, that is what really keeps me going”.

He also reveals the importance of music in “surviving the daily round” and said walking in the countryside is like an addiction.
