Donald Trump LIVE: Ex-President faces major criminal investigation this summer

Donald Trump and his allies could face more criminal charges this summer over alleged efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.

The Atlanta prosecutor leading the probe into the former President’s actions has signalled criminal charges could be announced in August.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sent a letter to Fulton County judges asking to not schedule trials during the first three weeks of August and announced remote working days for most of her staff.

The moves are being read as a sign that a grand jury decision in the controversial case will be announced at that time, setting the scene for Willis to prosecute.

“Thank you for your consideration and assistance in keeping the Fulton County Judicial Complex safe during this time,” Willis wrote in her memo to staff and judge

Trump and his allies face indictments for conspiracy to commit election fraud or charges related to racketeering in plotting to undermine the 2020 presidential race results.
