Donald Trump forgot to mention wife Melania in a mother’s day social media post paying tribute to his political enemies.
The 76-year-old, who is on the presidential campaign trail again, called out “radical left fascists, marxists, and communists”, while urging their mothers to make them “gentler” and “softer”.
Trump made no reference to Melania, mum of youngest son Barron, in the call on his Truth Social account, shared more than 10,000 times.
The Republican 2024 hopeful made headlines last week when a New York jury found that he sexually abused and defamed former columnist E Jean Carroll in a civil trial.
Trump is set to appeal the verdict after Carroll accused him of abusing her in a Manhattan department store nearly 30 years ago.
Jurors found him liable for battery and defamation, but not rape.
He told a CNN town hall event ahead of the appeal: “I swear on my children, which I never do. I have no idea who this woman is. This is a fake story.”
