Donald Trump 'hit hard' by Coronation rejection and will be feeling 'snubbed and angry'

Donald Trump will be “hit hard” by his lack of Coronation invite, given the ex-Presidents charm offensive against Queen Elizabeth II, a celebrity PR guru has claimed.

World leaders will gather in Westminster Abbey on May 6 to honour King Charles’s ascendancy to the throne.

Notably absent from the day will be President Joe Biden, but First Lady Jill Biden is expected to attend in his place.

Despite no US president ever attending the coronation of a British monarch, the former President will take his absence from the event as a personal slight, claimed Jordan James, CEO of Unlocked PR.

“With Trump valuing his ‘connection’ to the royals, he is no doubt feeling snubbed and angry by not being invited to the coronation,” James told Express.co.uk.

The celebrity PR expert continued: “Given how much he seeks their approval, this snub will likely hit hard – especially given other world leaders are attending.”

James said he would not be surprised if the ex-President attempts to downplay the significance of the event to “save face”, however, this would be a losing strategy too.

“It would only serve to embarrass the ex-President even more and highlight just how out of the loop he is even after his four years in office,” claimed the PR expert.

However, as James pointed out, Trump’s relationship with the royals has not been entirely smooth sailing, with him claiming to have a good relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II (citing mutual love for Scotland), while also making controversial comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

In fact, days before the Coronation, Trump revealed he was “surprised” the Sussexes even bagged an invite, given how “disrespectful” Meghan was to the Queen.

Trump told GB News: “She was treated so disrespectfully by Meghan and there was no reason to do that.

“I was actually surprised that Harry was invited to the Coronation to be honest.”

Trump added: “I think she [Meghan] has been very disrespectful to the Queen. How can you be so disrespectful to the Queen?

“She was incredible, for decades and decades she never made a mistake. I cannot think of a mistake she made, she was never controversial.

“She went through years and decades without controversy. You cannot be disrespectful to her and I think Meghan was very disrespectful to her, very disrespectful.”

Harry confirmed earlier this month that he will be attending his father’s Coronation without his wife and children.

Harry’s attendance will be brief, with the Duke planning to jet back soon to the US soon after the event to attend his son Prince Archie’s birthday in California.

Harry’s whistle-stop tour will be carefully orchestrated to avoid an awkward encounter with his brother, Prince William.

The Prince of Wales’s fury at his younger brother is an open secret in royal circles.

Harry made a number of explosive claims about him in tell-all memoir Spare, which has strained relations.

The Duke of Sussex will be seated several rows behind the senior royals and at a position to ensure that there can be no direct shot of William and Harry together – meaning any potential sideways glances or furious stares are not broadcast on the world stage.
