Donald Trump could be charged next week over hush money pornstar payments

Donald Trump could be indicted as early as next week as law enforcement prepares to level charges against the former President. Officials familiar with the situation claimed law enforcement agencies are conducting preliminary security assessments should Trump be charged in connection with alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.

No charges have formally been filed against the former President – Nonetheless, potential security plans in and around the Manhattan Criminal Court are being prepped in case he travels to New York.

Daniels claimed she and Trump had sex, and that she accepted $130,000 (£100,000) from his former lawyer before the 2016 election in exchange for her silence on the encounter.

Five officials told NBC News that the interagency conversations and planning are precautionary in nature as no charges have been filed.

But the agencies involved include the NYPD, New York State Court Officers, the US Secret Service, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
