Shocking footage has shown the moment a young man picked up a fire extinguisher and threw it during a violent brawl at a branch of JD Sports.
The brawl took place in Brighton’s Churchill Square yesterday at about 2pm leaving blood splattered across the floor of the shop with the reason for the fight so far unknown.
Footage, which was posted on Twitter and Instagram by an account called ‘imjustbrighton’, showed two yobs approaching another two inside the store with one holding a fire extinguisher above his head.
Those inside the store begin to back away while another picks up an unidentified piece of shopfitting to defend himself.
The pair then charge inside and the youth launches the fire extinguisher at the other two.
Having just thrown the extinguisher the youth then runs back and rips another one off of the wall near the store entrance and prepares to throw it.
But a security guard notices and runs over and snatches the second fire extinguisher from him before giving the yob a telling-off.
A later video posted by the page shows police eventually detaining the boy.
Another video showing the aftermath of the incident showed blood sprayed across the floor of the shop with clothes strewn everywhere.
The store’s changing rooms were also left in a mess where it appears fighting also took place.
One person who messaged the social media page which posted the video claimed the brawl was gang-related, but this has not been confirmed.
A commenter replied: “Well done to that security guard.”
While another added: “Feral behaviour from animals.”
