Dire warning for King Charles over his new approach to monarchy: 'He needs to be careful’

Camilla has been given praise for rising to the occasion, but Hagan doesn’t think one person is enough, saying, “We’ve seen her at a couple of royal engagements, when she’s asked about the King, she’s like, ‘Yeah, he’s doing fine,’ but then you’re going to see the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh out on maneuvers, possibly Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.”

She also expresses concern about the Waleses, who have been deemed the future of the monarchy, saying, “I mean, Kate and William, they’re not that young.”

“If you remove them from the equation, you’ve got a bunch of old people left, haven’t you, who are the most senior royals, who are going to be the ones out on engagement, and if you want a slimmed down monarchy that leads to modernity, no offense, having all these older members of the royal family isn’t necessarily the way to do that.”

Hagan suggests promoting Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, but the princesses have not show any interest, it’s being said.

The royal commentator suggests having “understudies,” which makes us think of the exchange between Paddington 2 co-writer Simon Farnaby and the late Queen.

Farnaby, who is also a comedic actor, complimented Queen Elizabeth II on her acting skills, with her replying, “I do it all the time.” He was a little confused, asking, “Oh, do you mean, playing the role of the queen?” with her swiftly correcting him, sternly saying, “You know I am the queen? Paddington’s not real, they are actors, but I’m the queen.”

A King Charles understudy isn’t going to work.
