Detectives 'not looking for anyone' after man and two daughters found dead at home

Detectives investigating the deaths of four people say they are not looking for anyone else.

The bodies of Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, and his two young daughters alongside an unnamed woman were discovered in a property in Costessey, near Norwich in Norfolk, on Friday morning. Officers said the man and two girls lived at the address while the woman was visiting the property.

Police said they were initially by a man inside the Allan Bedford Crescent property at 6am. However, they did not attend until a second call was made by a member of the public at 7am.

The force has now referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC). It said it also referred itself to the IOPC because it had contact with Mr Kuczynski just before Christmas in relation to a missing persons’ report.

Officers have tonight confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the four deaths. All four people were found with injuries.

Post-mortem examinations are set to take place to establish a cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, who is leading the investigation, said: “We’ve spoken to witnesses and neighbours, carried out house-to-house inquiries, examined local CCTV and completed initial scene investigations. As a result of this, we’re not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

Uniformed officers remained on the Queen’s Hill estate throughout Saturday. Mr Burgess added: “Post-mortem examinations will be carried out tomorrow for the man and woman, and on Wednesday for the two girls.

“While I can confirm all four people were found with injuries, we will not be disclosing any further information until these examinations have taken place and the cause of death has been established.

“This is a tragic incident, distressing for all involved and it is clear from the reaction it’s caused a lot of shock and upset in the local community. We’ve had uniformed officers patrolling the area today and these will continue tomorrow.

“The IOPC will assess the circumstances of the call and determine the appropriate level of investigation required. As a result, no further information relating to the circumstances of this call will be released at this time.”
