A paedophile teacher who seduced her 15-year-old pupil has been having secret meetups with her new conwoman lover, it has been reported.
Kandice Barber, 37, who sent the teenager explicit pictures and had sex with him in a field, has been going out on secret romps with convicted fraudster Jay Delaney who she met in an open women’s prison, reports claim.
The mum-of-three, now on work release, has been using her newfound freedom to meet Delaney on her way to her job.
Barber is halfway through a six-year and two months prison sentence and currently on Release on Temporary License – aimed to return her to a useful role in society.
She recently worked as a security guard at a construction site building council homes, in Hounslow, West London where one builder described her as a “massive flirt”.
She was reportedly moved from the job, which the prison secured her, following a rebellion among the workforce over her shameful past.
She told friends she has fell in love with Delaney, who was sent to prison in April 2022 after stealing her friends’ life savings to the tune of £388,000.
Delaney, from Southend, Essex, stole money as she claimed to run a get-rich scheme between 2015 and 2020.
The pair have been spotted cuddling and holding hands to and from work as well as sneaking off for secret dates, a source revealed to The Sun.
They said: “Kandice is only allowed out to go to work – but she and her new partner have been meeting up in secret.
“They’ve been meeting up on her way to work and her way home.
“It’s frustrating that she’s still in prison but they’re now meeting up for, you know, ‘time together’ shall we say.
“They’ve been taking pictures together and talking about their future together.”
The judge who jailed Barberi n 2021 called the woman “beyond despicable” for seducing the teenager.
Working at a school in Princess Risborough, Bucks, she flirted with him and bombarded him with text messages, including one asking: “do you like boobs or bum?”.
She also sent him a photo of herself in bed, surrounded by sex toys.
In the end, Barber was found out because the headteacher of her school was handed a topless photo which had been sent to her victim.
Recorder Bal Dhaliwal, sentencing her at Aylesbury Crown Court, said she had “acted in gross breach of trust” and had taken “advantage of a child in your care and groomed him for your own sexual gratification”.
She added: “The victim was a 15-year-old boy in his final year at school. You had control and authority over him. He felt drawn in by you due to the compliments, you caused him to engage in sex with you while he was a pupil in your care.
“You threatened to take him down with you if he reported it. You already had authority over him by virtue of your position but to use threats is beyond despicable.”
