Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway forced to postpone all events due to ongoing illness

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has been forced to postpone all events as she goes on sick leave for at least two weeks.

The period of illness may be extended, the Norwegian Royal Court has said.

It means the Crown Princess cannot carry out her planned visit to Stockholm, with the King and Queen of Norway and her husband, Crown Prince Haakon. They are travelling to Sweden to mark King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Golden Jubilee.

She will also miss the county trip to Vestland, which will take place later this month.

The Norwegian royal’s sick leave is a result of her ongoing medical condition, pulmonary fibrosis.
